composition exercises form part of the lessons.

Aims and Content: Students go through a process during the year in which the aim is
to learn how to optimize body alignment as well as their own strength and
mobility balance. The course deals with different stretching techniques,
relaxation and breathing techniques, the body’s physiological possibilities
and limitations, and movement analysis. Individual exercises
combine theory and practice. The exercises are supported by the
course in anatomy and training physiology.

Duration: 34 lessons

Aims and Content: The aim is to consolidate and supplement such existing
knowledge of anatomy and physiology as supports work on dance
technique. The course deals with body movement functions,
kinesiology and biomechanics, all of which facilitate the understanding
the body’s possibilities and limitations in relation to the demands of dance
and optimal health. Other parts of the course deal with posture and its
components, energy production and nutrition. The course is supported by
the body care course with practical exercises around the same themes.
Assessment: Active participation and successful completion of assignments are
essential for a pass mark.
