Around the world in 8 months

In 1873 Phileas Fogg went around the world in 80 days: new cultures, history, different religions met him from London to Paris, Suez, Bombay, Singapore, Hong-Kong, New York. He would not have survived the adventure without Passepartout, his faithful servant.

In 2012 you get 8 months to go around the world: history, geography, culture, religions, politics, as well as surviving up to six weeks as a volunteer somewhere on the globe (London or Paris or Brussels or Montevideo or, perhaps, somewhere in Transylvania). At the end of the journey you will get your own Passepartout for life: international knowledge for an international future.

The programme is hands-on, using arts and crafts, interactive workshops and games, study visits and project work. It will focus on increasing your tolerance and understanding of different people, and it will help you develop the ability to communicate in a language that you do not speak by using your skills in other languages. It will also give you the chance to do voluntary work, in direct contact with people from another culture - helping in a homeless shelter or in kindergartens, giving a hand in building a school, or supporting the work of an international organisation.
