The European Commission has set adult education as a priority for the present budgetary period, and the Lifelong Learning Programme contains strong incentives for mobility among the adult education staff. The objective of the Grundtvig/Comenius In-Service Training is to help improve the quality of lifelong learning by giving those involved in the delivery of adult education in the formal and non-formal sectors the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as coaching, counselling skills, and training methodology.
All TEACh Courses are available are eligible under the Grundtvig/Comenius grant scheme. How can you avail of such a training grant to attend the TEACh Course?
1. Fill in the Application form selecting the session (date and location) you would like to attend. If we consider your application eligible, we will confirm your registration and send you a letter of confirmation. We will also remind you about the deadline for the grant application.
2. Contact your National Agency for The Lifelong Learning Programme (see list here or go to http://ec.europa.eu/education/programmes/llp/national_en.html) to obtain a grant application form. Duly fill in the Application, asking us (the organisers) for any additional information you may need regarding travel or accommodation costs. Please make sure that the information in the Application form you submit to the National Agency is complete, and that the budget estimate is realistic (the maximum sum granted will never be increased, even if your actual costs are higher, so it is worth paying attention to the figures already at this stage).
3. Send your grant application form to the National Agency for the Lifelong Learning Programme together with the confirmation letter received by e-mail from the TEACh organisers.
4. Your National Agency will consider your application and will inform you when and if you have been awarded a grant. The processing of your application is likely to last between 30 and 60 days.
5. You should then immediately contact us to confirm your registration. If you have not been awarded a grant but made a preliminary registration, you need to cancel this by contacting us immediately after receiving the decision of the National Agency. If you have not been awarded a grant but you still want to take part in the training event, you may of course cover the costs from other sources, including private funds (please contact us if this is the case, special discounts are available).
6. From the moment your National Agency confirms that you have been awarded a grant, you have responsibilities towards us as training providers. If you then cancel your attendance at the event, you will be responsible for paying the published cancellation fees. In cases of force majeure you will be exempt from the payment of these cancellation fees. Only in very exceptional cases (e.g. illness or death of the grant applicant or a family member) may the National Agency pay cancellation fees using grant money.
7. In the unlikely event that we, as organisers, should cancel the training, we will give you the opportunity to select another one of our courses. If your participation is cancelled due to ‘overbooking’ of the event, you will have the highest priority on the participation list for any other eligible course we provide and at a price no higher than the original course fees.
8. In case we cancel the session at short notice, you may be entitled to compensation if you have already incurred non-refundable costs (e.g. travel tickets that cannot be cancelled or changed). The TEACh Team will consider each case individually. Neither your National Agency nor the European Commission are liable for such costs.
If you have any further questions, please contact us.
